Classroom Library Linky

I found a sassy new blog the other day(or rather she found me) and she is having a classroom library linky party! She created her own blog design and it is super cute! Type on over there and link up or say hi and welcome a new blogger on the block!

I just moved to a new room and it is UpSiDeDoWn!!! I'm going to link up using my last years classroom library photos. I'm sure this room will look similar with a few tweaks.

I have a book buying problem that I managed to tame down a bit last year. I find that I have too many books. Seems CrAzY to say that since I LOVE books but I think the kids and I both get overwhelmed with the organization and upkeep. I sorted out MANY of my books when I moved. I brought home the higher level book that I had used for my gifted 4th graders. I'm now committed 3rd grade for the foreseeable future.

I'm heading in today to work on my
WoW Messy RooM!

Leave a comment with
suggestions or ideas for my upgrade!!

  2. Ohhhhh Sassy {I love it}. WOW I love the space you have for your reading area. I have so much furniture in mine, I can only dedicate my little corner. How does your check-out system work. I basically just did the honor system last year. I lost some books, but I gained a ton more by having students donate. Thank you for linking up!!

  4. This is last years photos! I can't even show the new room yet! I went in today and when I left it still looked hairy canary! :) My three kids all decided they wanted to fight and cause trouble vs. go play on the playground nicely. Oh well, I'm going in on Fri. on my own.
    Thanks for all the encouragement.

  7. Hi Julie, I had to laugh when I saw your comment. I went back and forth on adding my blog to the grade level linky party, but figured if they were at the linky party then they had already found my blog, ha! :-) I've taught 5th for the past 3 years, but have put in a transfer and am waiting {and waiting and waiting :-)} to see what grade level I will be in this year. So that kind of tipped the scales and I didn't add my blog anywhere. Hope you got a lot done in your room! We aren't allowed back in till mid August.

  9. Your pictures look great! Good luck setting up again. I ran into the same problem you did. I had all of my 4th grade books, and it just got to be too much. I now have tons of books stored just in case I go back.

  10. I think your classroom looks great. I have a hard time keeping my library organized also. I have a simple checkout system one child is in charge of the clipboard and they write down the book and date checked out. They take this very seriously. They would check the books off when they were returned and would not let them check out more than one book at a time.
I would love feedback on how to keep my library organzed.

  11. Your library looks great: your bookshelves match, which is more than I can say for mine! :)

How does your checkout system work? I haven't been able to settle on one that I like.
