Grade In - Look what I get to be a part of!!
7:57 AM
This Saturday, April 9th, at 10:00 I'm going to be part of a giant "Grade In". Teachers from all over will gather and do what we do in front of the public! I plan to put together some spelling activities, grade papers, and work on my TpT stuff. Erin, my partner in crime and I plan on being at the Briarwood mall to show our support for our profession and show our angst for the terrible actions happening against teachers and unions in Michigan today.
If you are local think about coming out! This should be very interesting. There will be plenty of media, shopping, and food court food!!

Wow! I've never heard of something like this! How cool!
ReplyDeleteSaturday is the 9th of April.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome. Would really show the public how much we work outside of our school day.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. I love the idea of showing people what we really do.

That's wonderful! There is nothing worse then hearing someone say, "You're tired? You get off work at 3:30?!?!"
ReplyDeleteThen there is always my favorite, when I spent 5 years in first grade, my EX-husband use to say, "What you're tired? All you do is sing songs and play games all day!"
Teaching is a wonderful CALLING!! Best of luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I want to hear about other people's experiences with U of S before I get up in front of a bunch of people. I know how much I love it, and I know how I teach, but I know that all of us are a little different. I want to be able to speak confidently and be able to speak in more general terms than just I... I ... I... ya know? Anyway, the posters in my post are actually from my TpT store. The two in the middle photo are from my fiction file and the posters in the third photo are from my writer's workshop: writing on target bundle. I made them to complement the curriculum.

By the way, I love this post! I think we should do this in Ohio. Our government just passed a law that bans strikes, weakens collective bargaining, makes us pay more, and implements merit pay (among other things). I hope you all fare better.
